Introducing founding partner

BRIAN D. BARATZ, CPA

When Brian Baratz graduated with his B.A. in accounting from Rutgers University and began pursuing his profession he recognized that there was a need for a new kind of accounting firm - one large enough to provide clients with a diversity of services, yet small enough to care. In 1982 he founded Baratz & Associates, P.A. and, for over a quarter of a century the firm has grown from four to its current staff of thirty-five caring professionals.

Brian has exceptional experience in litigation support with expertise in business insolvency, company restructuring, and bankruptcy. His clients represent a full spectrum of the business world from individual proprietors to publicly traded corporations.

In addition to his professional commitments he has served on numerous boards, including the Rutgers University Deans Council, American Heart Association, the Cherry Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and the Jewish Geriatric Home. He is recognized as the driving force behind the construction of a new home for his synagogue, Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill, where he served as past President, Treasurer and Vice President.

Brian and his wife Debby have instilled in their two sons, Attorney Michael and CPA Daniel, the same principles-of-service that they have actively practiced in business and their personal lives. He also enjoys golf as a member of Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill.

Impressive credentials

Brian was an examiner for the United States Trustees Office and the U.S. Department of Justice and has served as a Bankruptcy Court Trustee and a United States Bankruptcy Court Mediator. He has been an expert witness in cases involving business valuation, stockholder disputes, and bankruptcy negotiations. The Institute for Continuing Legal Education has called upon him to be a seminar panelist, and he has appeared as a guest on the Camden County Bar Association public service television show, "Legal Line."

Meaningful affiliations

Brian maintains membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and The New National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
