"Accounting is so much more than just plugging in numbers. It’s a service business, and being attentive to clients and building relationships is fundamental."
SEAN BALLIET, CPA, CFP®
As a young child, Sean aspired to be an accountant. It was a goal he accomplished when he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University. Sean enjoys working with small business owners, proprietors, and individuals to help grow and maintain their businesses, and is always searching for new ways to improve the firm’s services to clients.
With more than fifteen years of public accounting experience, Sean is skilled at finding tax savings opportunities for individuals and small business owners, and has strong working relationships with all of his clients. Sean worked as a waiter while working toward his accounting degree, and it’s where he learned the importance of excellent customer service.
In his role at the firm, Sean advises CFOs, controllers, bookkeepers, and management on the tax ramifications of specific business decisions. He also works with government authorities to reduce and properly assess tax bills for clients facing large tax penalties. Acting as an intermediary, two of Sean’s greatest accomplishments were helping reduce a client’s tax penalties by 90 percent and advising a client involved in multi-state transactions with tax planning, compliance, and preparation on how to avoid penalties and additional fees.
Sean has also presented before the Delaware Chamber of Commerce Young Executives Group and moderated the annual tax update seminar for the Delaware Society of CPAs.
An avid runner, Sean participates in local charity races and has completed five marathons, including the New York City and Philadelphia Marathons.
Sean is a licensed CPA in New Jersey and Delaware.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey Society of CPAs, and the Delaware Society of CPAs.
